Hello performance community!

In response to recent events within our theatre community we want to invite you to a facilitated conversation to discuss what we can do together in this time of crisis. This conversation is specifically for women, women identifying, gender queer, non-binary, and trans individuals in our community.

We are hoping to collaborate with you, our community, to provide a safe space for people to discuss current concerns, new experiences, and ways that we can identify the needs of individuals and groups in order to support one another.

We are aiming to provide a supportive and collaborative environment for these conversations to happen. This is not a facilitated group counselling session – this is a space to share and/or listen. This meet up is confidential however we are unable to provide the protection of qualified privilege. This means that disclosures that specifically name people would be open to libel. We are working to be able to provide protection by qualified privilege in the future in order to facilitate open discussion.

If you are looking for a safe space to discuss these issues we welcome you to attend this upcoming Community Consent Conversation.

This Conversation will be hosted by The Maggie Tree and SkirtsAfire with support from The Theatre Arts Collective for Consent and Respect (TAC) www.theatrerespect.com and The Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE) www.sace.ab.ca.
